Taylor Swift fans blast Olivia Rodrigo for ‘copying’

Olivia Rodrigo has just announced her upcoming single, The Cure, off of her upcoming album and has as a result sparked comparisons to Taylor Swift.

The singer harmlessly shared images of herself promoting the song, one of which internet users speculate was her attempt at copying the 14-time Grammy winner.

In the picture that internet users put side-by-side to compare the two, the Déjà vu singer donned a simple pink shirt with her hands holding threads that read the name of the track which is soon to be released.

However, the image cut off at Olivia’s eyes, which reminded a lot of netizens of an iconic image of Taylor in a shirt with seagulls on it from her 1989 era that was also taken from the nose down.

On internet user on X wrote, “stop copying people and come up with your own ideas please,” as another remarked, “Not a single thing about this girl is original.”

Eventually, a fourth added, “If she's not doing this intentionally, she really needs to hire someone on her team with the job title of "make sure Taylor hasn't done it before."
