Kylie Minogue has made a deeply personal admission about her past, saying late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence was “probably” the love of her life.
The 57-year-old pop icon reflected on her whirlwind romance with the rock star, who tragically died in 1997, six years after they split.
Speaking candidly to The Sunday Times Style, Kylie said their relationship, though relatively short, left a lasting emotional mark that none of her later romances matched.
“Yes, probably,” she said when asked directly.
“I’ve had lots of relationships, some were love, some were not. My relationship with him was not for that long, but it had a profound effect on me.”
Street Fighter actress also looked back on her early fame and romance with Jason Donovan, her Neighbours co-star, revealing they are still on good terms decades later.
The pair famously played on-screen lovers before their real-life relationship blossomed off camera.
“We fancied each other,” she admitted.
“The love story in the show came first and then it became a real thing.”
Jason even features in her upcoming Netflix documentary, which Kylie says left her emotional while revisiting old memories.
She joked that she sent him “doozies” of messages while going through old footage.
The singer also revealed she broke down in tears while discussing Hutchence in the film, saying the moment was overwhelming.
“You could hear a pin drop,” she said.
Now single, Chiggy Wiggy hitmaker says she is content on her own and in no rush to find love again.
“I’m definitely getting pickier,” she said, adding firmly that narcissists are a “red hot no” after a past experience she won’t repeat.
