Olivia Rodrigo spills on love lessons after Louis Partridge split

Olivia Rodrigo has opened up about her love life and it’s not romance taking centre stage.

The 23-year-old singer revealed she’s currently in what she calls the “most important phase” of love, and it’s all about friendship.

Despite recent rumours linking her to Cameron Winter after her split from Louis Partridge, the Drop Dead hitmaker insists dating is just a bonus not the main event.

Chatting with her best mate Madison Hu for Cosmopolitan, she gushed: “I’m in the most important phase – friendship love. Dating is just the cherry on top.”

And it’s clear Madison holds a special place in her heart. 

Olivia even called her “the longest love of my life besides my parents”, proving that for this pop princess, loyalty runs deeper than romance.

The chart-topper also admitted she’s learned a big lesson when it comes to matters of the heart and that is patience. 

“Things happen the way they’re supposed to,” she said, adding that love shouldn’t feel forced or stressful.

But don’t think that the songstress’ navigating dating alone as she’s got a whole support system on standby. 

When tricky romantic decisions pop up, she and her friends turn to their group chat, hilariously dubbed “Jury Duty”, to weigh in on potential partners.

And there’s one non-negotiable for any future boyfriend: he must get along with Madison. 

“If they can’t hang with us, they can’t hang with me,” Olivia declared.

While she stayed tight-lipped on current romances, the deja vu singer did tease that her latest track Drop Dead was inspired by the buzz of a perfect first date, that electric feeling of possibility.
