Laverne Cox is dishing on her experience working with Keanu Reeves, and the way the Canadian actor is on and off camera.
The 53-year-old collaborated with the 61-year-old on Jonah Hill’s dark comedy Outcome, and spoke at the New York City premiere about her experience with the latter.
In a conversation with People the Orange Is the New Black actress said, “Keanu is focused, and Keanu is intense and just dialed in every single take, but once his coverage is done, he just chills a bit, and he’s talking more.”
Cox added, “But he’s chill and really normal — as normal as you can be when you’re an international superstar, but very chill, and unassuming and almost shy, which makes you want him even more. But I was very appropriate on set — I didn’t flirt.”
The Inventing Anna actress further dished that she wasn’t sure about doing the film in the beginning but was on board as she continued reading the script.
Cox revealed that she got a call from Hill about how he really appreciated her work in the past and wanted her to play the character Virginia, which she also grew to love.
Notably, the actress jokingly added that she joined for Keanu as well and if the director had lead with that she’d have immediately said yes.
