Lucy Liu details frightening health scare from past

Lucy Liu revisits a scary early 2000s health incident after a lump in her breast was wrongly diagnosed as cancer.

The actress, who appeared at the Women of the Year gala, recalled how the moment felt more alarming due to the limited access to health information back then.

According to the People magazine, she said, "I didn't really think too much about it. But it was scary, because at that time, there was less information that was available, because we didn't have internet."

She recalled that a doctor examined the lump and immediately suggested it was cancer without recommending further tests.

As per outlet, the surgery was quickly scheduled to remove the lump, and she later learned the diagnosis had been incorrect.

Moreover, the Devil Wears Prada 2 star admitted she initially ignored advice from a friend to seek a second opinion.

"Even though my friend had said to get a second opinion, I sort of thought, 'Well, what's the point? The doctor knows what they're talking about,'" she explained.

Meanwhile, now partnered with Pfizer to promote cancer prevention and early detection, Lucy Liu told the publisher that the experience reshaped her outlook on health advocacy.
