Gwyneth Paltrow in spotlight as old rivalry resurfaces

Gwyneth Paltrow is back in the spotlight, but this time, it’s not for her films or lifestyle brand. 

A new biography claims she once rubbed fashion icon Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy the wrong way during her early rise to fame.

According to writer Amy Odell in Gwyneth: The Biography, Carolyn allegedly found the 53-year-old actress “irksome” while working behind the scenes at Calvin Klein. 

The book claims that the late publicist even made “cutting remarks” about Gwyneth, reportedly seeing her as a “little miss perfect” as the young star’s profile skyrocketed.

At the time, Marty Supreme star, daughter of actress Blythe Danner, was a firm favourite within Calvin Klein’s inner circle, attending glitzy events and enjoying VIP treatment. 

Her star power only grew, culminating in an Oscar win for Shakespeare in Love in 1999.

Meanwhile, Carolyn’s life took a different turn. 

After leaving the fashion house, she married John F. Kennedy Jr., becoming one half of one of America’s most watched couples. 

Tragically, both died in a plane crash in 1999, a moment that cemented their place in modern history.

The claims have resurfaced just as the new drama Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette revisits their whirlwind romance, sparking fresh intrigue about their inner circle.
