Gwyneth Paltrow is honest about her family ties and being raised in a privileged family.
The actress is the daughter of Emmy-winning actress Blythe Danner and director Bruce Paltrow.
The 53-year-old was raised in Los Angeles with acclaimed filmmakers and actors around her since a very young age.
At the age of 18, the actress landed a role in her godfather Steven Spielberg’s 1991 fantasy adventure film Hook alongside Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, Julia Roberts and Bob Hoskins.
Recalling how she secured the role, she revealed she never had to audition for the role, contrary to the tradition in Hollywood where newcomers line up in queues to audition.
While speaking during a SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations event, Gwyneth said Steven’s wife Kate Capshaw was her parents’ close friend so she grew up with the Spielbergs.
When they were on their way to see The Silence of the Lambs, the director said to her “Gwenny, will you do me a favor?” and asked her if she would play young Wendy in the movie.
The then-teenager Gwyneth replied “Yes, I will. I will do that.”
The movie was a huge success as it was based on the already established fantasy story of Peter Pan.
