Seth Rogen has revealed the heartbreaking truth behind the future of The Studio after the tragic loss of beloved actress Catherine O’Hara.

The 43-year-old star, who co-created the series with Evan Goldberg, admitted that the it show now feels “a little anchorless” without her.

He opened up about the emotional toll of losing the Schitt’s Creek legend, who died earlier this year aged 71.

Speaking candidly to The Times, the comedian confessed the upcoming second season will inevitably reflect that loss.

“If anything, we’re acknowledging the idea that we are a little anchorless,” he said.

“That’s part of life — something we all experience.”

While the comedy won’t dive too deeply into dark territory, Seth admitted viewers can expect a more emotional edge this time around, adding: “We are not ignoring it.”

Behind the scenes, the grief has been just as raw.

Evan described the situation as an “unbelievable challenge”, explaining the show had originally been written with Catherine firmly at its centre.

“She was the anchor — and now the anchor is gone,” he said, admitting the shock has rippled through the entire production.

Catherine, famed for iconic roles in Schitt’s Creek and Home Alone, passed away on January 30 from a pulmonary embolism after missing the start of filming.

She had played studio executive Patty Leigh in the show’s first season, a performance that earned her a posthumous win at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

In a touching tribute, Seth later accepted the honour on her behalf, praising her warmth as well as her brilliance.
