Selena Gomez turns director for ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’
American actress-singer to make her directorial debut with the final season
Selena Gomez has recently made major career move for the final season of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.
In a press statement released on April 2, the Only Murders in the Building actress will make her directorial debut with the premiere episode of the final season.
Interestingly, Selena, who will reprise her Wizards Beyond Waverly Place role, is a “love letter” to fans, which aired from 2007 to 2012.
The Emilia Perez actress helped bring Wizards Beyond Waverly Place to life with her former co-star David Henrie.
“This means a lot to them… We really wanted this to be this big, warm hug to them, a love letter to them, but at the same time, just this invitation to pass the wand to a new generation,” explained David.
Interestingly, the press release for the final chapter of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place included four-part event, picking up after season two.
“Billie, still reeling from losing Alex at the end of Season 2, discovers that the only way to rescue her mother is to reunite with her long-lost father,” mentioned the press statement.
It added, “As her family bands together to find Alex, Billie realises that their combined power is the only way the Russos can defeat the evil plaguing them.”
