Lauren Blake Boultier has broken her silence after being accused of using AI to superimpose her face onto another influencer’s body, sparking a social media storm.
The influencer, who has amassed more than 1.6 million followers on Instagram, found herself at the centre of controversy when Tatiana Elizabeth claimed Boultier had recreated her two-year-old photo from the US Open using artificial intelligence.
Elizabeth quickly called out the alleged copy, sharing side-by-side images that appeared nearly identical, from the outfit and pose to the lighting and background.
Boultier’s now-deleted post, however, was geotagged at the Miami Open, adding to the confusion.
“The weirdest part is that this is a real person,” Elizabeth wrote online.
“She used AI to put her head on my body.”
She also pointed out eerie similarities, including matching accessories and even what appeared to be the same tattoo.
Describing the situation as “a little scary”, she questioned how far social media culture has gone, saying she was left “perplexed” by the incident but did not intend to bully.
Boultier has since issued a public apology, admitting responsibility for the post.
She explained the image was generated using an AI content system run by her team and insisted she had not knowingly copied Elizabeth’s work.
“I take full responsibility for what appears on my platforms,” Boultier said, adding that she has since apologised privately.
The influencer also promised stricter oversight in future, as the row fuels growing concerns about how AI is blurring reality and raising serious questions about authenticity in the online world.
