Taylor Swift, who recently won seven out of nine awards at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Award, got sued for “stealing” someone else’s trademark.

The chart topper got sued by the America’s Got Talent’s former contestant as she blamed the American singer for trademark infringement.

It was reported by The Hollywood Reporter that the alleger, Maren Wade, accused You Belong With Me hit maker and UMG Recordings of false designations and unfair competition.

She revealed that Taylor’s recent album, The Life of a Showgirl, is based on her twelve-year-old brand.

Maren’s attorney gushed to the outlet, “A solo performer who spent twelve years building a brand shouldn’t have to watch it disappear because someone bigger came along,”

For the unversed, the Las Vegas Weekly writer initially started with a column called Confessions of a Showgirl, which featured her experience in the entertainment industry in 2014.

The files have also stated that due to the 36-year-old “copying” the name, the netizens get the impression that either she is copying the Grammy Award winner or they are affiliated in some way.

As per the lawsuit, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office declined the Lover songstress’ attempt to register “The Life of a Showgirl,” trademark, noting that it is similar to Maren’s and might cause confusion in the future for the audience.

This comes after Taylor was already under the spotlight as worldwide fans wondered when she is getting married to her lover, Travis Kelce, as few celebrities hinted that it might take place soon.
