Johnny Depp, who is currently preparing to return to the big screen, has been scammed by a young man.
It was reported recently that the American actor faced a mishap after his credit card details were leaked.
According to The Sun, the reports claimed that his American Express card details were used for suspicious transactions, amounting to £520,000.
It was revealed that the armed forces recently stormed in a rented apartment and caught the culprit, who is a 27-year-old man and lives in Budapest, Hungary.
It was also disclosed that the "thief" made small transactions like luxury online purchases and high-end holiday accommodation bookings, which were not noticeable by the actor's team.
The fraudulent activities, which marked up to 308 separate transactions, first started from January 2024 to December 2025, spanning for over two years.
Notably, the search began earlier this year after the US bank flagged illegal withdrawals from an account to the Hungarian branch of the FBI.
Now, although the perpetrator has denied the claims and said that he is not guilty, he is still being held in pre-trial detention officially under court's order.
For the unversed, the £520,000 is equivalent to roughly $721,000.
