Millie Bobby Brown at first resisted wearing a specific outfit for Eleven for the final season of Stranger Things.

The Enola Holmes star was urged to wear to a Goonies inspired ensemble for Eleven, but she tried to avoid it.

However, ultimately the costume designer, Amy Parris convinced her and Duffer Brothers to embrace the look, as per The New York Post.

In the final season, Parris designed the lead actress dress 1980s authentic. To give it a proper original look she put together sweats, a T-shirt, a cropped sweatshirt, custom Nike hig-tops and red shorts with the joggers.

The red shorts served as a deliberate nod to Josh Brolin’s character in the 1985’s The Goonies.

The designer explained that the choice added a "vibrant pop" to the functional, down to earth attire.

She drew additional influence from the mish-mash style of Soleil Moon Frye’s Punky Brewster.

Revealing Brown's reaction, Parris said, "She saw the concept art originally, which I showed to [series creators] the Duffer brothers."

She added, "And once we settled on an idea, we emailed it to her. I found out later that she had side-emailed them, like, 'are you sure about this?'"

Stranger Things all five season are now streaming on Netflix.
