BTS’ new album, Arirang, which was released on March 20th, marked a special milestone for the group.
The band that is made of seven K-pop idols, RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, is back on track after facing multiple snubs.
As per the data from music sales tracker Hanteo Chart, it was revealed that the album broke the group's own record for first-week sales with over 4.17 million copies sold in the first week after the release.
It is to be noted that the band’s previous record was made in 2020 after the launch of the album, Map of the Soul: 7 with 3.37 million copies sold in it first week.
Notably, according to the K-pop industry, the sales of the first week of the album measure how well the track will do and if it was a hit or a flop.
In Japan, the latest project of the seven members became their seventh No. 1 album on the chart and the best-selling launch by an overseas artist this year.
The most-streamed artist on Apple Music last Friday also topped charts on the same platform in 115 countries around the world.
The boys are also set to embark on the massive ARIRANG World Tour to support the successful album, starting from April 9, 2026, with over 70 dates across five continents.
