Charlie Puth, renowned American singer-songwriter and musician is plunging into the realm of artificial intelligence.
The Grammy-nominated singer has also become a Chief Music Officer of AI music production platform, Moises.
This combines the studio expertise of the 34-year-old with the latest technology, who is not new to the game and has been using Moises in his own workflow years.
In the post, he clarified his position regarding the AI debate. According to the crooner "AI, when done right, isn't here to replace musicians."
Moreover, he remarked, "It's here to help artists learn, explore, and bring their ideas to life."
In conjunction with the position, Moises and Puth also introduced a remix competition to his new single, Beat Yourself Up.
Notably, fans were allowed to experiment with the song using the AI features of the platform, like isolating vocals, adjusting tempo, rearranging chords.
The action follows the recent Supreme Court decision stating that no copyright protection was provided to the works whose creation was fully done by AI without human involvement.
The ruling highlights the complex-yet-changing environment in which he is currently entering.
The responses are ambivalent some celebrate his progressive attitude, others look at AI in music with suspicion.
However, the mission of Puth is a combination of educating and uplifting through evolving technology.
"Moises opens up possibilities that used to take hours or expensive studio setups," he added.
"Whether that's isolating vocals to study technique or experimenting with arrangements in real time," he concluded.
