Kanye West, now legally known as Ye, could be about to make a spectacular comeback to the UK festival scene.
The 48-year-old rapper is reportedly in advanced talks to headline this year’s Wireless Festival, sparking excitement among fans and festival-goers.
A source close to the star told The Sun’s Bizarre column: “It’s been an incredibly turbulent few years for Ye, but he wants to get back on stage and prove he’s a serious musician.
Wireless is a massive festival and for him to return and headline would be huge.”
Kanye is said to be eager to rebuild his UK fanbase, after a string of public controversies and polarising political statements.
“He has apologised profusely for his behaviour over the last few years and he wants a fresh start,” the insider added.
Negotiations are ongoing, with Wireless reportedly keen for Ye to commit to multiple nights, much like Drake did during last summer’s festival.
If confirmed, this would mark the rapper’s first Wireless appearance in over a decade.
For the unversed, he famously headlined the festival in 2014, stepping in for Drake, who had pulled out due to illness.
While his London Finsbury Park show drew attention for a lengthy mid-set rant, his Birmingham Perry Park performance was praised for its energy and production, drawing massive crowds.
Wireless has hosted a roll-call of hip‑hop heavyweights including Jay‑Z, Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Cardi B, and Kendrick Lamar.
