Katy Perry has leapt to Bad Bunny’s defence ahead of his headline-making Super Bowl halftime show.
The 41-year-old pop icon, who famously lit up the halftime stage herself in 2015, urged the Latin superstar to show the world what the “real American dream” looks like.
She voiced her support after the Puerto Rican rapper came under fire from former US President Donald Trump and other conservative critics.
Taking to X, Katy sent Bad Bunny a clear message of encouragement, telling him he had what it takes to remind the world what America is really about.
The 31-yearold rapper finally hit the Super Bowl LX stage, giving fans the performance they’d been waiting for, during the NFL showpiece clash between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks in California on Sunday.
Steering clear of politics, the DTMF hitmaker put his worries about ICE and the tense mood in America to one side and stayed true to his promise of bringing people together.
When he took to the stage on February 8, he turned the halftime show into a full-on celebration, performing inside a pink “Casita” and welcoming a star-studded line-up that included Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, Cardi B, Alix Earle, Pedro Pascal, Jessica Alba and plenty more familiar faces.
