Nick Jonas is opening up more about his daughter Malti Marie’s birth story, after him and his wife Priyanka disclosed that the little one came into the world a trimester early.
The Jonas Brothers band member commemorated the efforts of healthcare professionals in tough situations and revealed how they saved the 3-year-old who was born via surrogate.
In an episode of Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, the father-of-one explained that the baby girl arrived under very intense circumstance and much earlier than the estimated due date.
“We got to the hospital, and she came out. She was 1 pound, 11 ounces, and ... purple. These angels at the NICU resuscitated her in that moment, and got her taken care of really quickly and intubated and everything else,” Nick stated.
The Camp Rock alum went on to add that Malti endured a three-month long struggle and that it took a while for her to gain weight, and that she also had to receive six blood transfusions.
Nick also talked about the experience of having a baby during the COVID-19 pandemic, due to which him and Priyanka basically split their time to do 12-hour shifts with the newborn.
"I could still sort of like, smell it, you know, there's always visceral things. It's, it's ... it was both comforting and frightening, to be there every day and to see other families going through similar situations,” he added.
Notably, the star-studded pair have been vocal about how blessed they are to have Malti as they celebrate and mark sweet moments with her on social media.
