Pop superstar Taylor Swift is officially making history.

The 36-year-old singer has been named among the Songwriters Hall of Fame class of 2026, becoming the youngest woman ever to receive the honour.

She joins fellow legend Alanis Morissette, whose iconic 1995 anthem Ironic cemented her as a voice of a generation.

For the unversed, the star-studded line-up also includes Footloose writer Kenny Loggins, and rock royalty Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS

SHOF Chairman Nile Rodgers hailed the inductees, saying: “The music industry is built upon the incredible talent of songwriters who create unforgettable songs… Everything originates from the song and its creator.”

In addition to the performing songwriters, the Hall will recognise some of the biggest names behind the scenes: Walter Afanasieff (All I Want For Christmas Is You, Hero), Christopher ‘Tricky’ Stewart (Umbrella, Single Ladies), and songwriting duo Terry Britten and Graham Lyle (What’s Love Got To Do With It).

“This year’s lineup celebrates unity across genres and honours songwriters who’ve profoundly impacted billions worldwide,” Rodgers added.

The Opalite hitmaker qualifies despite her first single Tim McGraw only dropping in 2006, as the induction ceremony isn’t until June 11 at New York City’s Marriott Marquis Hotel.

Fans can expect a star-studded celebration paying tribute to those whose words and melodies have defined generations.
