Ellen DeGeneres, who is known for her extended career as a host, took a huge decision to leave the United States after President Donald Trump took the office.
Although the 67-year-old host moved with her partner to the U.K, she shared a message for the people of Minneapolis.
She addressed the situation faced by the residents, expressing her sorrow for what’s happening.
The presenter admitted having a connection with Minneapolis as she shot her last “stand-up special,” receiving love from the people.
In the video message, Ellen admitted that it was the “happiest city in America” as she sent her “thoughts and prayers” for everyone.
One of the critic contested her for calling it a “happy place,” while it is being raided and protests erupting.
They were of the opinion that she is an “out-of-touch celebrity.”
Another called out her move of sharing the clip, noting: “She’s not an American citizen anymore right???? [Elen] needs to [redacted].”
Meanwhile, a netizen seemingly called her a hypocrite for issuing the statement, claiming the host “mistreated her employees for years.”
The Finding Nemo voice artist is currently living in the Cotswold's region of England, focusing on a simpler way of life.
She has never stayed back from condemning the president of the United States and his policies in particular.
