Reese Witherspoon revealed an upsetting update for fans regarding a group of scammers impersonating her targeted followers on social media.
While conversing on her official account, the 49-year-old warned community to watch out for imposter accounts, especially on TikTok and Instagram, on January 14.
In the clip, Witherspoon began addressed netizens, saying, "This is important. I want to just tell you what I've been dealing with for the past 24 hours."
The Oscar-award-winning actress revealed that the fake accounts using her name got into people's DMs, extracted personal data, and caused harm.
Witherspoon went on to state, "I want you to know, this is not me. And it's so upsetting that people would use my name to manipulate people, but I want you to know that I would never, ever manipulate you."
Furthermore, the American actress noted that she would "never reach out to you for money, for private information, to create a meet up time."
The mother of three urged fans to see "verified" batches on the account.
Witherspoon looked devastated by the act, which is happening on a large scale, noting, "If somebody's talking to you, this is not just me."
She emphasised being careful out there, adding, "I would never, never reach out to you to manipulate you or take anything from you, okay."
It is worth mentioning that allegedly Witherspoon is teaming up with Jennifer Aniston to throw a surprise divorce party for their close pal, Nicole Kidman.
