The American Film Institute Awards were a star-studded affair, as some of the biggest stars in Hollywood attended the event.
The Beverly Hills gathering was an exclusive, invitation only luncheon to honour the stars and to celebrate the collaborative effort of actors, directors and everyone else involved in the process of filmmaking, and TV shows.
It involved prominent actors like Michael B. Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet as well as directors Guillermo del Toro, Steven Spielberg and Ryan Coogler.
The stars could be seen mingling with each other, smiling, chatting and posing for pictures including one in which Jacob Elordi playfully flipping off the Titanic star and the Frankenstein filmmaker as they got their image taken together.
Meanwhile some of the television shows that got recognised at the event were Adolescence, The Pitt, Severance and The Studio.
Carol Burnett closed the ceremony by delivering a hearfelt speech about her journey with film and cinema, saying “I’ve never lost the deep respect and love that I have for all the stories we tell through cinema and television and by all of those behind and in front of the camera.”
“Creative collaboration has always remained at the heart of our work, and AFI brings us all together. The world is a better place for having heard your voices,” Burnett added.
Notably, the event also included AFI’s signature March of Time video montage, which offers a glimpse into the movie and TV milestones over the decades.
