Kendall Jenner has finally responded to years of internet chatter claiming she is secretly a lesbian, using a podcast appearance to shut down the speculation and speak candidly about her personal life.
On Friday’s episode of the In Your Dreams podcast, Jenner described the persistent rumor that she is hiding her sexuality as both inaccurate and hurtful, and rejected the suggestion that being openly gay would be “bad for business.”
“As of today, I am not gay,” she said, while noting that she would have no problem publicly embracing her sexuality if that were the case.
According to Daily Mail, Jenner acknowledged that comments about her sexuality often stem from her private approach to dating and relationships, contrasting with the more publicly shared personal lives of her family members.
Moreover, she said speculation has sometimes crossed the line into unkind and unwelcome territory online, with discussions lacking the respectful tone such sensitive topics deserve.
While addressing the rumours, Jenner also emphasised her belief in living authentically and expressed that if she felt ready and true to herself, she would openly share that aspect of her life with fans.
Furthermore, she added, “I think at this point in my life I’d be out if I was,” while emphasizing openness to life’s experiences without closing any doors.
Over the years, Jenner has been linked romantically to several men, including Harry Styles, Devin Booker and rapper Bad Bunny, and has consistently preferred to keep her relationships out of the spotlight, as per the outlet.
