Noah Schnapp gets honest about accidentally hurting Jake Connelly.
In the first quadruple episodes of Stranger Things Season 5, Derek (Jake Connelly) begins as a foul-mouthed bully targeting Holly but becomes a key target of Mr. Whatsit.
After being drugged and used as bait, he witnesses the supernatural threat, switches sides, and helps protect other kids. His redemption surprises everyone, making him an unexpected ally in the Hawkins crew’s Volume 1 mission.
During a scene when a Demogorgon attacks Derek’s house, he panics beside Will as the creature closes in; Will (Noah Schnapp) reassures him, guiding him to stay quiet and follow the escape plan.
However, in his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Schnapp revealed an incident that occurred during filming with Jake.
"When I was going to tackle Derek, I ran and accidentally pinned him to the ground ... His whole leg was scraped and bleeding ... I was like, 'Oh my God, I hurt him,’” he revealed, recalling the scene where he was trying to get ahold of a running-away Derek.
However, Derek stood his ground and told Schnapp, “It is okay, Mr. Noah. I feel like Tom Cruise doing my own stunts.”
