Miley Cyrus is stepping into a new era, one where love comes with a little more privacy.
The 33-year-old chart-topping star, who recently confirmed her engagement to musician boyfriend Maxx Morando, revealed she’s never felt more in control of her personal life.
Speaking to People, the Flowers hitmaker admitted she’s “astounded” she’s been able to keep parts of her romance out of the spotlight.
“For us, our privacy and keeping things small has been something I’ve actually been able to have,” she said.
“Being older, I’m more protective of what I’m open to sharing.”
For the unversed, the couple fuelled engagement rumours earlier this week when they stepped onto the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Miley, glowing in full fiancé mode, said the film’s themes of “love, family resilience and reconnection” feel perfectly aligned with where she is in her life right now.
The Hannah Montana actress and Maxx first sparked romance whispers back in 2021 when they were spotted together in Miami on New Year’s Eve.
At the time, insiders described the pair as “very compatible” and excited to see where things might lead.
Before the 27-year-old singer, Miley dated Cody Simpson, a relationship she later said ended so the pair could “work on ourselves” while figuring out who they wanted to become.
