Rihanna claps back at fans asking about 'R9' delay?

Rihanna, who is known for her chart-topping hit tracks, set another record despite being on a nine-year long music hiatus.

As the 37-year-old singer is usually called out by fans for delaying upcoming R9, Rihanna seemingly clapped back at the ongoing buzz.

The Diamonds hitmaker took to her X (formerly Twitter) account, sharing her recent milestone as her last studio record ANTI successfully stayed on Billboard 200 charts for 500 weeks.

She is the first black female musician to set this record “in the chart’s history.” The Umbrella hitmaker presumably fired back at those asking about the delay by writing: “God ain’t forget bout me!”

The update divided her admirers as one of the X users supported their favourite singer: “Beyonce has nothing on you. You will forever be the best.”

Another netizen noted: “You were always on the list. Delay [doesn’t mean] denial,” while a third fan pointed out that this is “just Impact” without any promo or “skips.”

However, several flooded the update with comments about the release of the ninth studio album with someone noting: “But it seems that you’ve forgotten about us!”

A netizen reminded the musician that she “forgot about that ALBUM!”

It is to be noted that the social media post garnered 3 million impressions within an hour of posting.

When did Rihanna announce R9?

The album was announced almost a decade ago and has been delayed several times. It was reported that the project was recorded completely but Rihanna started over.
