Carey Mulligan shares what went off-camera on 'Pride & Prejudice' set

Carey Mulligan opens up on playing her debut role in Pride & Prejudice revealing her raw experience on set.

Mulligan was hired to play one of the Bennet sisters in the 2005 version of the film.

"I was so lucky to get that job," the 40-year-old expressed while discussing the topic of fame and the importance of being at the right place at the right time.

“I remember Joe took us to the house with the sisters, and we spent a day just playing hide-and-seek and sardines in the house to try to make it feel like it was our house,” she said.

While crediting the creators, the Mudbound star cited the efforts of the team in making the cast take ownership of the film and its characters. 

"We were all young and excited about the job and just loved each other and were having so much fun," she said. "And it’s a timeless story. It’s so romantic."

She went on to speak about how the cast got to bond with each other and had a 'magical' time while staying in multiple hotels in the countryside of Britain. 

The actress had since then continued to live a successful career, working in projects including Maestro, Promising Young Woman, and Never Let Me Go.
