Abel Tesfaye made the headlines after the singer wiped his entire Instagram account, leaving nothing but a black profile picture.
Although the 35-year-old singer hinted at retiring The Weeknd, it appears he might be launching new music and a persona.
The Blinding Light hitmaker raised eyebrows once again by re-sharing a post, featuring an influencer lip syncing to his song.
This move sent fans in to a frenzy as one Instagram user asked: “So The Weeknd goes ghost and posts this like what’s going on... new songs????”
Another fan was puzzled as they were one of the many “waiting for news.” It is to be noted that the singer also acknowledged the original reel along with 74k other people.
This came after the Popular crooner deleting all posts from his account, which previously featured updates about his tour.
As this is his last musical journey as The Weeknd, the musician decided to extend his tour which was supposed to wrap up this year.
However, he added more dates and is now set to end his journey in September 2026.
Earlier, it was reported that the Save Your Tears singer engaged in talks of $1 billion deal for his “music catalogue.”
The Weeknd will retain ownership of his music and instead use it to raise capital for other projects.
