Kim Kardashian opens up about wearing Marilyn Monroe dress
The TV star received massive backlash for the move
American socialite Kim Kardashian has opened up about wearing the iconic Marilyn Monroe dress.
As per the reality TV star, who wore the dress to Met Gala in 2022, she has one regret regarding the event.
Kim’s decision to wear the archival dress received massive backlash as it is considered a piece of history saved like a timecapsule.
In the new episode of The Kardashians, Kim addressed the entire fiasco.
“I will bring this up til the end of time,” Kim said in the episode as she spoke about the decision to not do her hair similar to Marilyn’s signature hairstyle.
Speaking of the process of picking her hairstyle, Kim recalled “I don’t know why, but everyone told me, ‘Don’t do Marilyn hair. You’re gonna look like a wax figure of Marilyn.’ We just thought we wanted to be blonde.”
The mother-of-four admits she could have chosen another figure, like Jackie Kennedy, the widow of US President John F Kennedy.
“I should’ve been, like, dark, Jackie O vibes”, Kim said.
Marilyn Monroe’s dress is a piece of history which was designed by Bob Mackie and sold for $4.8 million in 2016 in an auction.
The legendary actress wore the dress in 1962 to the 45th birthday of JFK at Madison Square Garden and infamously sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President”.
