Ariana Grande pays a heartfelt tribute to her Land of Oz, Ozian family, and her journey as Glinda the Good, sharing a deeply personal letter.
On Sunday, November 23, the pop star and actress took to Instagram, just two days after the theatrical release of Wicked: For Good, to pour out her emotions attached to the film.
The post, captioned with "happy wicked weekend and thank you for everything ♡ … i love you so," quickly went viral, as Grande attached an emotional handwritten-style letter with it.
In the emotional text, which she signs "Love always, Ariana (Your Glinda)," Grande describes the world of Oz as her "safe space" for as long as she can remember.
She credits the story's characters with teaching her how to love unconditionally, forgive, and "look inward" to grow.
She recounts falling in love with Wicked when she was just ten years old, calling it an escape and a place of comfort that has remained with her throughout her childhood and adult life.
Her journey to becoming Glinda has been the "most meaningful, moving, and cherished gift of all," she wrote, making this post a poignant message to fans currently seeing her on screen.
Grande concludes by urging her "chosen Ozian family" to remember: "whenever things get scary or you feel alone, home is wherever and with whomever we want it to be, and there’s no place like home."
