Ariana Grande is paying tribute as she bids an emotional goodbye to her ever-glowing enchantress character, Glinda, from the Wicked franchise.
On Friday, November 21, the franchise’s last instalment, Wicked: For Good, releases across the USA, and the Grammy-winning singer and actress, Grande, showed love to her character via social media.
‘Thank you, my sweet Glinda, for everything. I will love you always ... Wicked: For Good is out now,’ Grande wrote on Instagram with a carousel of photos.
The snaps feature Glinda, as reimagined by Grande, as the glitter-soaked crown jewel of Oz, a charm-powered sorceress wrapped in pastel glam and sugar-sweet confidence.
Gushing about her love for the character, Grande also added images from the creation of Glinda, including many pink items of clothing and props.
Grande officially joined the Wicked film adaptation in November 2021, when Universal announced she’d play Glinda the Good alongside Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba.
The filming of Wicked Part One and Part Two ran roughly from late 2022 to early 2024, including breaks due to the Hollywood strikes.
With the release of Wicked: For Good on Friday, Grande bids a final goodbye to her character while celebrating her pink-clad, most powerful sorceress in the Land of Oz, Glinda.
