Jennifer Aniston reflected on everyone’s reaction when she decided to step into production, as she was honoured at Elle’s event a couple of days ago.
The Morning Show star appeared at Elle's Women in Hollywood event as one of the outlet's honorees on Monday, November 17.
After accepting the honor from Adam Sandler, Aniston reflected on her last recognition by Elle in 2011, before she continued to pursue producing.
The Emmy-winning actress revealed that in 2004, when she first said she wanted to produce, the same year Friends ended, the reaction was surprisingly sober.
“The room got really,” Aniston recalled, “really quiet, and I got that look of ‘how cute you are,’ and sort of a pat on the head and the air bubble above the head that says, ‘OK, let’s just wait a second, let’s put a pin in this for now.’”
The Friends alum continued that as the industry evolves, she plans to produce her first movie, “and I can confirm, I love it. And I’m really good at it.”
Now serving as an executive producer on The Morning Show, Aniston reflected on why she keeps showing up, for the friendships.
The actress added that she continues to be there for “the shared belief that storytelling still matters, that baring our souls as actors and creators still matters, something that A.I. will never be able to duplicate, no matter how smart it gets.”
