US President Donald Trump has declared Cristiano Ronaldo as the “greatest” footballer of all time.

The Portugese footballer attended the dinner hosted by Trump at the White House for Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman on November 18.

Sharing a video from the evening on, the White House declared Ronaldo “GOAT”.

The video was shared with the caption “Two GOATS. CR7 x 45/47”.

“GOAT” is a commonly used abbreviation to describe someone as the greatest of all time, a phrase often used by football fans to describe Ronaldo.

It was also the athlete’s first high-profile appearance in the country in over a decade where the next football world cup is set to be played in 2026.

In the pre-dinner speech, Trump said “You know, my son is a big fan of Ronaldo,” referring to his 19-year-old son Barron who had the opportunity to meet the player.

Earlier, Ronaldo expressed his admiration for Trump and said he would like to “have a long discussion about world peace” with him.

Next year, Ronaldo will play his 6th world cup for Portugal that is set to take place in US, which has been confirmed to be his last dance.
