Taylor Swift, who continues to rule the charts with her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl, has once again thrilled fans, sending them into a frenzy.
The 35-year-old pop sensation has released The Fate of Ophelia (Alone In My Tower – Acoustic Version) exclusively on iTunes, offering a stunningly intimate version of her global hit.
The drop arrives as The Fate of Ophelia celebrates its third consecutive week at No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Official UK Singles Chart.
The original song, taken from her record-breaking album The Life of a Showgirl, has already made history, and the acoustic release looks set to continue its unstoppable success.
With this milestone, Taylor surpasses the late Michael Jackson’s record, achieving an incredible 38 weeks at No. 1 across her career, compared to the King of Pop’s 37.
According to Luminate, her latest album has also broken multiple records, outpacing Adele’s iconic 25 with more than 3.5 million sales in its debut week, the biggest opening in US history.
It sold 2.7 million units in America alone and became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day.
Moreover, the Lover hitmaker further proved she remains on top, setting a new vinyl record by selling 1.2 million copies in just one week.
Taylor Swift is set to release a six-part docuseries about her record-breaking tour this December.
The upcoming Disney+ series, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – The End of an Era, will premiere on December 12, alongside a brand-new concert film titled The Final Show, filmed in Vancouver.
