Spice Girls star Victoria Beckham has revealed she did not know her bandmate Geri Halliwell was leaving the group.
The girl group, which was formed in 1994 consisting of five members, rose to fame in 1996 after their debut single Wannabe became a hit across the world.
The British group enjoyed major success but in 1998 Geri, famously known as Ginger Spice, left the group.
Now, Victoria who has been promoting her self-titled documentary has revealed she was not aware of Geri’s decision.
While speaking on Call Her Daddy podcast hosted by Alex Cooper, the singer said Geri left without informing anyone.
“She just left. I was on the phone to Geri this morning about something completely different and we even laughed about it.”, she stated.
Posh Spice further explain how it happened recalling “She just left and we had no idea until she just didn't turn up. We can laugh about it now but at the time we were like, 'OK.'”
Later in 1999, Victoria left the group as well after the birth of her son Brooklyn. In 2000, the pop star released her solo debut single Out of Your Mind.
The group reformed in 2007 and went on a reunion tour as a five-piece band.
