50 Cent is opening up more about the surprise shout out he received from Taylor Swift in one of her latest songs, with some surprise digs at her fiancé Travis Kelce’s exes.
The rapper has been name-dropped in Ruin The Friendship off of the global popstar’s twelfth studio album The Life of a Showgirl.
In an interview with Extra, the In Da Club rapper was talking about the loved-up, soon to be wed pair when he got asked if he finds the pair to be a good fit and if he likes them together.
“I do, I do. I like it a lot better than the last thing [Kelce] had going on. I like the team. You know, I like the whole thing,” 50 Cent said, likely throwing shade at the tight end’s ex, Kayla Nicole.
The 50-year-old then revisited the song reference on the show, in which Taylor basically states that a song by the Candy Shop rapper was playing in the background, likely at her high school prom.
“The music, you couldn’t miss it at that point and that’s why it was cool to me… What she was making reference to is the period that no one was more prominent in music at that point,” the actor added, hinting that his songs were the culture at the time.
Notably, 50 Cent has an outspoken personality and often takes jabs at other public figures on his social media.
50 Cent says that hip-hop and rap are genres that need the voice of the youth, so he is open to songwriting but not to singing himself.
