A charity once closely associated with Meghan Markle is facing damaging allegations of racism, sexism, and workplace bullying, marking a fresh PR blow for the Duchess of Sussex.
World Vision UK, the British arm of the global children’s charity where Meghan served as a global ambassador in 2016, is now under review by the Charity Commission following a complaint about its alleged “toxic” culture.
According to a report by Third Sector, 11 current and former employees claimed that racism, sexism, and homophobia were “ignored or mishandled” by senior leadership.
Accusations include staff confusing two Black women employees, mocking non-white colleagues’ names and accents, and routinely using non-disclosure agreements to silence departing staff.
While World Vision UK has denied all claims, it confirmed it has filed a “serious incident report” with regulators.
The organization is also undergoing its second major restructure in less than a year, with around 60 jobs expected to be cut.
A spokesperson stated the charity operates “to the highest standards” and will “fully cooperate” with any inquiry.
The Charity Commission confirmed it is “assessing concerns” to determine whether a formal investigation is needed.
