Britney Spears has issued a rare statement about her ex Kevin Federline, in light of his latest remarks and the excerpts that have been making rounds from his upcoming memoir.
The DJ has revealed that he is fearful that something bad will happen to the Toxic singer if things don’t change as well as writing in his book You Thought You Knew that his ex-wife’s situation is going towards something irreversible.
It seems like the comments seem to have had an impact on the 43-year-old, because she took to her X (formerly Twitter) and other social media to candidly offer her side of things.
“The constant gaslighting from ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting. I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys. Relationships with teenage boys is complex,” Britney began, referring to her sons Sean Preston, twenty, and Jayden James, nineteen.
The mother-of-two then noted that her sons have presumably observed the lack of respect Kevin has had for her.
Britney said that they were grown and needed to take responsibility for their actions, eventually saying that she has pride too and would only meet them on her own terms now.
“Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here. I will always love them and if you really know me, you won’t pay attention to the tabloids of my mental health and drinking,”ahe wrote.
The ‘Princess of Pop’ also emphasised that she was pretty smart and has been trying to live a private life for years now.
Britney Spears’s prior mental health struggles, erratic social media posts and past conservatorship have all lead fans to be very concerned about her well-being.
