After 16 years of being one of the most influential podcasts on the market, WTF from Marc Maron has come to an end.
The final guest on the show for episode 1,686 was former US president, Barack Obama.
“First of all, congratulations. Second of all, I’m honored to be on your last show,” remarked the politician.
The host responded to a question of how he was feeling about the end by saying, “I feel OK. I feel like I’m sort of ready for the break,” Maron said. “But there is sort of a fear of: ‘What do I do now?'”
Asking the 62 year old’s age, Obama recommended that he take it slow since he still has some chapters left in his life, “Take some satisfaction looking backwards. … Just be a little brain-dead for a while.”
Over the course of the hour long episode, the pair discussed the state of affairs in the world and how people can try to stay positive despite the tragedies occurring all around them.
Towards the end of the episode, the former president applauded the impact of the WTF podcast over the past few years, having hosted guests such as Paul McCartney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robin Williams and Lynn Shelton.
