Victoria Beckham, the former Posh Spice, has made a heartfelt admission about her Spice Girls days.
The 51-year-old fashion icon, now better known for her eponymous fashion empire, has revealed that her new Netflix documentary series forced her to confront some of her most difficult memories.
Recently, she spoke to Sunday Times Style about the series, simply titled Victoria Beckham, revealing that revisiting her girl band past felt “almost like therapy.”
“I’ve been defined by a four-year period in my life. That was the Spice Girls,” she said.
“It’s taken me almost two decades to fight that, and I feel that only now can I look back and talk about it. I cried. Like I said, I haven’t seen the final edit, but yes, I did cry.”
Despite the emotional ride, the designer was quick to stress her pride in the group’s achievements.
“I love the Spice Girls. I really do. And it’s been great reflecting on that time. I still speak to all of the girls. I’m so proud of everything we did.”
The mother-of-four, who has four children with footballer David Beckham, admitted the experience also included discussing business battles and financial setbacks, making for a raw and revealing series.
Victoria said she agreed to her own documentary after being surprised by the positive response to her appearances in David’s fly-on-the-wall programme.
Notably, her series promises an intimate look at life after pop superstardom and a woman determined to be defined by her own terms.
