Taylor Swift, who is engaged to NFL star Travis Kelce, seemingly faced a setback after The Fate of Ophelia's music video leaked a day before its official release.
The video of the new song, which began making the round on the internet, was filmed from the release party that was held to celebrate the 12th album.
In the leaked clip, the 14-time Grammy winner can be seen changing into different attires to give a glimpse of the life of showgirl.
However, one of the looks closely resembles that of late Marilyn Monroe, who was notable for playing iconic “blonde bombshell” roles.
Taylor raised eyebrows for channelling the actress as one user pointed out “pure Marilyn energy.”
The Fate of Ophelia is directly linked to Hamlet written by William Shakespeare, where the protagonist faces a tragic end after being driven mad in love.
While the Lover crooner created an alternate version where she is saved by someone, the appearance can be a tribute to the Hollywood star who reportedly committed suicide.
The entire melody is also being interpreted as a homage to her fiancé Travis, whom she decided to marry after struggling in the past.

Despite the setback, the music video of the track is scheduled to be available on YouTube on October 6, 2025.
