Justin Timberlake’s gig in July has made its way into the city’s council meetings, with authorities estimating that it could have had life-threatening consequences.
The Chelmsford City Racecourse has been asked to reduce its capacity after local police complained that concertgoers could have faced serious consequences due to the abandoning of their vehicles and walking near a dual carriageway due to traffic chaos.
Council officer for the city, Freddey Banks-Ayres wrote in the report from the committee meeting, "The public, by venturing on to the A131 in their hundreds as pedestrians, were potentially at risk of sustaining serious injury or even death,” adding that all of it also impacted other motorists.
Meanwhile the racecourse managers apologised for the traffic management issues on the first night, but also noting that "43,000 people attended the three-day festival, with the majority having an enjoyable and safe experience".
The venue’s capacity was previously permitted to hold up to 29,999 people but now the capacity has been limited to no more than 10,000 spectators.
Notably, it is difficult to say when Justin will be returning to perform at concerts as many plans have been put at hold due to his Lyme disease diagnosis.
The former NSYNC member has unveiled that he is suffering from OCD and AD, as well as Lyme disease which is caused by a certain type of bacteria called Borrelia bacteria, which leads to neurological issues along with severe joint pain.
