Doja Cat’s surprise collaboration with SZA has fans buzzing ahead of her new album Vie.

The 15-track LP, revealed on Spotify, features just one guest, with the Grammy-winning pair joining forces on the song Take Me Dancing.

Their 2021 hit Kiss Me More earned both artists their first Grammy wins, and fans are eager to see if they can replicate that success.

But it isn’t just the music making headlines as Doja’s album cover, which shows her dangling from a parachute caught in a tree, has sparked mixed reactions.

The Paint The Town Red hitmaker defended the image on Instagram, explaining it symbolises trust, curiosity, happiness, and life lessons.

“The tree represents life and wisdom… giving you a sense of safety within its branches, but the pain from the fall teaches you that those scratches can be healed,” she wrote.

The 29-year-old pop star, also responded to critics on X, stating: “You can’t make me feel bad for a cover that has visceral meaning… I forgive your harsh criticism, but for me I won yet again for following my heart.”

Fans quickly rallied behind her, with one commenting: “Real artists commit to their artistic vision… glad to see artists acting like artists again.”

Vie, a pop-driven project, is set to drop on Friday on September 26.

With SZA on board and Doja standing firm on her artistic vision, anticipation is at an all-time high.
