Dakota and Elle Fanning are a pair of successful siblings in Hollywood, and even though things are more balanced between them now, such was not always the case.
The duo had a clear hierarchy, and the Uptown Girls star being the ender one was naturally the one in charge between the two.
In their cover for Vanity Fair, the 31-year-old notes, “I was the top dog no matter what, she was the groom, I was the bride. I was Anna Wintour and she was the assistant.”
Elsewhere in the issue, the sisters began discussing a video of them from when they were much younger and getting ready for Halloween which was posted by Elle in 2019.
In the clip, the Maleficent actress can be spotted attempting to spend time with her big sister, who in turn shouts at her to get her wig back on.
“I’m being so bossy! And Elle’s so sad and cute, just wanting to hang out,” Dakota says looking at back at the video now.
Meanwhile the 27-year-old assured her sister, “You’re judging your small self, you only wish you weren’t so mean.”
Notably, the sisters also revealed that their bond has since undergone many changes and that they are not competitive and share a lot.
Yes, Kristin Hannah's novel The Nightingale is set to feature both Elle and Dakota Fanning for their first ever project together, and the adaptation will be released in February of 2027.
