David Bowie had special nickname for Kate Moss

Music legend David Bowie, who passed away in 2016, had a special name for supermodel Kate Moss.

The English model has revealed what the late musician called her.

In a recent interview, the model reflected on their friendship and and opened up about their bond.

In conversation on BBC Radio 6 Music's new series Music Uncovered - David Bowie: Changeling, Kate revealed that David called her “Smasher”.

“David, who by the way's nickname for me was Smasher, started phoning me on my birthday.”, she said.

Kate added, “I didn't need any other presents after that.”

Two years before his passing, David asked Kate to do him a favour.

Recalling the event, Kate said, “t the BRIT Awards in 2014 Bowie asked me to accept his Lifetime Achievement Award on his behalf.”

The model agreed to do it on one condition and that was to wear something from his archive.

The 51-year-old accepted the award on David’s behalf wearing the original Kansai Yamamoto bodysuit that David had worn for his Rainbow Theatre gigs in 1972.

Kate has expressed her admiration for the ate icon multiple times calling him an “enigma”.
