Orlando Bloom seems to have a personal attachment with his character, Legolas from the well-loved The Lord of the Rings movie series, as he candidly remarks on his iconic portrayal.
The 48-year-old also reflected on the latest addition into the fantasy universe announced by Warner Bros back in May, titled Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.
In an interview with the Today Show, the Troy actor was asked about if he would be reprising his role as Legolas the elf in the upcoming movie.
“I have not heard a peep, actually, I don’t know. I know it’s focusing on Gollum, so anything’s possible.”
Orlando then began reflecting on his consistent representation of the major character from Peter Jackson’s adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien’s books, hinting that someone replacing him would feel wrong.
“Listen, I’d hate to see anyone else play Legolas, you know what I mean? What are they going to do? Are they going to put somebody else in as Legolas?” the actor stated.
Notably, the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest actor's breakthrough role is Legolas, which ultimately earned him a Screen Actors Guild award.
Yes, Orlando has also made a cameo in The Hobbit series, which is a prequel to The Lord of the Rings.
