Sabrina Carpenter seemingly name-dropped all of her rumoured ex-boyfriends in her latest track from her album, Man’s Best Friend.

On August 29, the 26-year-old pop singer released her highly anticipated album, accompanied by a music video for the song Tears.

According to netizens, the lyrics from her single Go Go Juice, “Could be John or Larry, gosh who’s to say, or the one that rhymes with villain,” rhyme with the names of her past relationships.

They pointed out that John meant Shawn Mendes, Larry is for Barry Keoghan, Gosh refers to Joshua Bassett, and she called out Dylan O’Brien as the villain.

Fans quickly noticed the hidden meaning behind the cryptic message and rushed to social media to decipher the context.

One fan commented, “And they say she is not a lyrical genius.” Another follower wrote, “Sabrina really wants to bury Barry.”

It should be noted that Sabrina clearly mentioned in her interview on CBS Mornings with Gayle King that none of her tracks are about her former romances.

She said, “It’s more fun for people to picture the person in their head than the person I picture in my head.”

Notably, the Nobody’s Son singer was rumoured to be dating Joshua Bassett in the mid-2020s and was said to be involved in a messy love triangle with Olivia Rodrigo.

Similarly, in 2023, the Grammy winner sparked romance speculations with Shawn Mendes, though it was brief. Fans are certain her song, Taste, was about Shawn.

Sabrina’s only confirmed boyfriend has been Barry Keoghan, as the couple went public at the 2024 Met Gala.
