English actor Michael Ward has been granted bail after he appeared in court following charges of rape and sexual assault.
The actor is well known for playing the role of Jamie on the hit show Top Boy. He also featured in movies like Blue Story and The Old Guard.
The 27-year-old has been accused of offences against one woman in January 2023, as per the Metropolitan Police.
On August 28, the actor appeared in court for a short hearing at Thames Magistrates’ Court.
He briefly spoke to confirm his name, age and address. Later, he was granted conditional bail.
A conditional bail is granted to defendant, who is still faces charges, but is released from custody with the requirement that they still abide by certain rules and conditions.
Michael is charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
As of now, the actor has denied all allegations saying “I deny the charges against me entirely”, in a statement issued by his legal representatives.
He will make his next appearance on September 25 at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
The young actor is originally from Jamaica and resides in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.
