American singer Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl that is due to be released on October 3.

The album was announced on Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast New Heights on August 13.

The singer also revealed the track-list of the upcoming album on the podcast.

The album will feature 12 songs, produced with Taylor’s old collaborators Max Martin and Shellback and one feature with Sabrina Carpenter.

The track names have left fans in awe as Taylor has once again proven she is a genius songwriter.

Many fans have judged the album to be heavily inspired by literature and pop culture references, especially from William Shakespeare.

The opening song of the album it titled The Fate Of Ophelia, inspired from Shakespeare’s play Hamlet.

Taylor also revealed she gave Travis a crash course on Hamlet.

Ophelia is the love interest on Prince Hamlet, who dies by drowning. The reference can also be seen on the main cover art of the album where Taylor can be seen staring into the camera as she drowns.

According to Taylor, the album is inspired by her life off-stage during the Eras tour and the drowning on cover is a reference to her ending her physically demanding day during the Eras tour by resting in a bathtub.
