Taylor Swift and Sydney Sweeney, two notable names of the entertainment industry, were victim to Elon Musk’s new AI feature.
Although the businessman admitted that artificial intelligence will “most likely” be helpful to mankind, the recent events paint a grim picture of what future holds.
The new model allegedly made a “deliberate choice” to create X-rated videos of celebrities including, Taylor Swift, Sydney Sweeney and Scarlet Johansson.
It was reported by The Verge, that the “spicy” mode of Grok Imagine easily generated “fully uncensored topless videos” of the Bad Blood hitmaker.
The outlet asked the bot to create pictures of pop sensation at a music festival. However, when set to “spicy” mode, it created a video of Taylor dancing suggestively and removing her top.
It was also noted by the source that the now legally binding requirement of age verification is also not being observed by the model.
Meanwhile the user policy of the company XAI does not allow the resemblance “of persons in a pornographic manner.”
Professor McGlynn of Durham University highlighted that the recent turn of events reveal the “misogynistic bias of much AI technology.”
The news sparked a debate amongst the online community as one X (Twitter) user called the upgrade “messy” for easily creating deepfakes without a prompt.
Another netizen was of the opinion that the fake X rated content is “definitely a huge ethical mess, especially dragging in celebs like swift.”
The update raises a big question on the aim of these models and their developments that are being introduced.
Netizens now fear for their futures with massive amount of personal data being shared online on daily basis. The new feature clearly threatens the security of the users who otherwise fully place their trust on these online platforms.
